GCCR
Hello,

Further to my earlier postings I now have the SQ6 installed and the engine running fine on my just-bought prototype race car.

The car has a Shiftec system controlled by the SQ6.

However when I try to use the paddle to engage 1st gear the steering wheel paddle depression IS detected but the SQ6 reports...UPSHIFT DENIED and CLUTCH NOT DEPRESSED, sometimes replaced by DETENT NOT DEPRESSED.

I've checked and found there is no pressure sensor on the clutch line or movement sensor on the clutch pedal.

I'm not conversant enough with the CalPro software to understand what conditions need to be satisfied for a paddle activated gear selection to be allowed, but I would have thought some sort of clutch "infomation" sensor is a must??

Can you help ??

Hi GCCR,

It depends how the ECU is setup. I presume you are trying to shift from neutral. There are settings that deny a shift for safety reasons unless either, or or both the clutch and detent switch are pressed depending on what strategy is setup in the SQ6. Check your Caltool dataset to see this.

Many thanks,

Rob

Thanks for replying so quickly Rob - especially as it's a Sunday!

I think that's my problem. i.e. I am not confident I'd be looking in the right places on Caltool.

Can you provide some pointers ?

Hi GCCR,

SO the particular parameter that I was referring to is Neutral Safety Lock Mode.

This has a number of associated parameters with it as well.

If you hover over the "Description" in the bottom right hand corner you will get some further details of what each setting does.

Note that there could be a number of other parameters that effect this too such as those in the SHIFT LIMITS tree.
