Hi all,
So... we had a working SQ6 which suddenly started working only sporadically. What we have noticed so far is the following:
* The ECU appears not to 'boot': there is no RS232 or ethernet communications, nor 5V to the sensors.
* Once in a while the ECU will seem to operate normally we get info on the AIM display immediately.
* If the ECU happens to start up everything works normally until powered off.
* When the ECU won't start up we get ethernet carrier, but no packets are transmitted. The RS232 also shows -10V, but no data.

Any suggestion will be appreciated!

Hi
Mine did the same thing. Would power it on and off a couple times and it might work.
The internal battery was dead. Had to return to Pectel to be replaced.

Thanks for your reply! Is there a way to check the battery before shipping it to the UK?

Hi gadelavega,

From what you described I would recommend you to send the unit back to us for the inspection.

Please find below the link to our online returns form

Rule of thumb on SQ6 family batteries is 5 years life, but it depends on how the unit is used and how it is stored. Usually if the unit is losing its logging that would lead to a battery being flat.
