I forgot to stop several recordings before turning off the car and removing the card.  They show as xxxx.mp4.RAW files and I am trying to find some way to recover them.  Any ideas?

Thanks!

I've not found a good solution for this.  There are some tools our there like untrunc, ffmpeg, and AtomicParsley that might be able to do it but these PDR files seem to be exceptionally difficult because Cosworth creates an extra proprietary stream in the file that embeds the actual data.  I've asked if there was a tool just to extract the data stream in to a PDS file but never heard back.  Please post a reply if you find an answer.

Do you know if the data stream is proprietary or there's documentation somewhere?

It's listed as Marlin PDR 1.0 and I assume it's proprietary.  I *think* it's just the PDS format that the other Cosworth systems use but looking at both files in a hex editor I can't see any start of file indicators.

While it won't solve the OPs question I just want to automate extraction of the full data stream without video so I don't have to carry around Terabytes of MP4 data just to look through historical data.

Were you able to isolate the PDR telemetry stream from the video and audio ones?

I figure this is not an unusual occurrance.  I'm a bit surprised that Cosworth / GM don't have a simple tool to complete the write process for this exact scenario.  Should be pretty easy for them to do, I'd think.

Turns out due to the way MP4 files are structured this is hard and it's not unique to the PDR MP4 files.  Most of the tools ask you for another "valid" file to try to figure out what to add back to close it out and even then my luck has been slim getting the video back.  Since I have no idea what's in the Marlin stream I'm hoping it's easier for Cosworth to provide a tool to extract it.  I've known multiple people that have crashed with PDR running but not shut down the system gracefully.  It would be great to be able to at least get at the data to help identify what happened.
