Hi,

I have been asked to look at Huyndai WRC 2001 rally car which I am told has Pectel T10S ECU.
From what I read in the forum, the original software for the T10S was DESCProW, which is no longer supported and if used, needs to be run under Virtual Machine environment on newer OS than Windows XP.

Can someone confirm that the DESCProW needs to be used for the T10S or if CalTool can be used to connect to it and configure it.

yes only Descpro and in some cases only with a special developer dongle and copy of Descpro. Caltool is not supported with T10.
Desc works fine with Win 7 and 10. (inverted colours on Win7).

Hi Martin and thanks for quick and informative reply,

Can you by any chance direct me to the latest version of DescProW, which runs under Win 7 and Win 10 as the version I found floating around seems no to run properly on Win 7 64-bit.
What I have is DESCProW.exe file with related file but not installation files.

I copied the whole PEXT folder coming from the .zip file to the C-drive (tried desc\pext folder on c:\ as indicated in the manual and pext folder directly on c:\) and the program starts but with error window stating: Basic initialization routine failed.
Which to me indicates that some of the files should be stored at certain places where the program should find them but does not.
I also tried to run the .exe file in Win XP compatability form with the same result.

I am sorry to bother you with outdated software question but if you can direct me in the correct direction I would appreciate it.

Regards

Hi,

I tested to run the DESCProW files I have, version 3.11 - build 51, on Win 10 64-bit and Win 7 32-bit and it runs. I only have issues with Win 7 - 64 bit.
Now I just need to wait to get the ECU in my hands to get an example of the MAP.

Question regarding this as I have Pectel T10S on the way that also came from MSD as one of the 2002 Hyundai Accent WRC cars.

If the ECU does in fact need a developer dongle and specific version of Descpro, can that be reconfigured as an open developer ecu if I plan to do my own mapping from scratch?

I am planning to re-purpose the ECU for a completely different application and will need to start fresh so would have no need for the data currently in the ECU.

Hi misdeismo,

The T10 is an old and unsupported Ecu and as a result means that we cannot change developers on these if they are locked to specific manufacturers.

What are you looking to use it for? Perhaps our current range of ECUs such as the SQ6 would be a better fit?

Many Thanks, Rob

Hi Rob,

Yes, I actually have a SQ6M that I am planning on using. Is there any pinout out sheet for the T10 (not T10s) that I can look over? It appears as that the T6M 2000, T10 and SQ6M all use the same ECU connectors, so I was wondering whether they are pin compatible which would make upgrading much easier.

Thanks
