We are logging data with a DB1 logger, connected to a SQ7DI. When I open the outing in Toolbox after downloading with Pectel Card Management I have no laps in the outing.
I have though DB Lap Beacons (generated by GPS), Lap Distance and the Lap Number channel is increasing as shown on the print screen below.

Anyone an idea what I should do to have these laps generated?

Regards,

Mathieu

Hi Mathieu,

You cant use a change in channel value to create the EOL beacon automatically that Toolbox needs to see unfortunately.

Is the beacon connected to the SQ7Di in anyway? For Toolbox the EOL beacon has to be created in the data by one of our ECUs/loggers. The other option is doing it manually however id guess you dont want to do this!

If you can explain the beacon setup we can give you more advice. You can create a GPS beacon in SQ code on the ECU.

Hi Rob,

Indeed inserting lap markers manually is not really what we are looking for...

The SQ7 is configured to use GPS Lap Beacon.

Which beacon are you using and how is it wired to the SQ7Di?

What have you got the Baud rate set at in the dataset?

If you look at NMEA channels, are you receiving valid GPS signals?

We are using a Garmin 5Hz GPS, wired through serial.

NMEA Baud Rate is at 19200

Yes we receive NMEA channels.

The DB Lap Beacon signal is from this setup...

Be sure you are logging Lap Beacon in the DB1.

@RobF I PM'd you the dataset and DB card config together with a logged session with these.

Best regards,

Mathieu

Thanks will take a look.

I believe it is because you are not logging the acutal ECU lap beacon channel. In Card manager go to Low Res ECU channels and log Lap Beacon, first in the list under that folder.

Yes, log ECU lap beacon not DB1 lap beacon.  It doesn't need to be at high hz, I can't remember now but the code handles the update, all it needs to know is to look for a beacon from the ecu.
cheers
