Hi all,

Looking for a bit of help to generate a maths function that calculates the fuel used per lap around a circuit. I understand that registers will probably need to be used to increment.

Goal would to display the previous lap's fuel usage once you pass the beacon trigger point.

Best Regards
Kevin

Hi Kevin,

Have you tried using the Fuelling app in Toolset?

Here you can setup 2 different Fuel Used counters based on either a button function or an event.

Therefore you should just be able to set it up to reset based on a Beacon event.

Many thanks,

Rob

Hi,
Just select the channel "Fuel Used last lap"   I have this as a default in the base file..

To check if this channel has been defined, or that somebody has not given it another name,                Select your Setup and from Home page, click on Fuel menu, then the lower meny is called  "Generated channels".   You can name the channel from there and then display your chosen name.

Of course you need a fuel used channel from your ecu but I am assuming you already have a fuel used value..

  cheers..

Please excuse...  The definition of the Fuel used last lap is only possible in D4, but the channel "Fuel Used Last Lap" is default in my base setup and is available for logging and display.  At least i cannot find anywhere in my setup file where this is generated other than to assume it is generated in the base code..

OR you could setup a Telltale according to fuel used 2 and as above reset fuel used 2 with beacon.. the telltale then would hold per lap, display the tell tale..

  cheers..

Hi All,

I appreciate all your replies - thank you. I did not make mention earlier that I am using an Omega ICD Display.

Littleozfella, your approach worked. I had not explored this feature of the ICD and it seems to have worked well.

Thank you Rob as well.

Best Regards
Kevin

Curious to see if anyone can help me.

I have exported data into excel to check that the 'Fuel Used Last Lap' maths works correctly, however the numbers work out quite strange. Using Fuel Used (max) and comparing on a lap by lap basis, I get different values to the 'Fuel Used Last Lap' channel.

How does Pi Toolset calculate this value? Note, math function converts L to kg. Output of dash is kg. Density was checked across all maths channels and has been ruled out as a reason for the difference.
