Hi,

we use a DB1 logger to log data from a SQ7DI. On this car we have a Garmin GPS 18X-5Hz which produces "nmea" channels. Unfortunately the 2 most important channels - nmeaLat and nmeaLong - do not show in the available channels in Pi Card Management.
They do show up in Offload Tool though. The nmeaAlt channel is shown in both.

Any ideas?

Best regards,

Mathieu

Nobody who could tell me what the nmea HW and LW channels stand for? I can't seem to find any info on this.

I got a math channel from someone to convert these to real lateral and longitudinal positions but wthout explanation.

Best regards,

Mathieu

By the looks of your screen shots it would seem you have a sq6 IP file, with an earlier fw version. Not entirley sure this is your issue but can't be helping.

Ive just looked in a very late SQ6 IP file and to be fair it still has the same as your screen shot. Possibe the hw & Lw could be High word and Low Word. For a 32 bit message? Again not 100% sure. Maybe if triple One shared the math we could work this out.

I indeed use a SQ6 IP file (allthough it is a SQ7).

You must be correct about the High word and Low word 32 bit message!

gate( [Elapsed Time] > 1 , (([nmeaLatHW] << 16 | [nmeaLatLW])/10000000))

Never used these math operators but now I looked them up, that's it.

Best regards,

Mathieu

you need a Sq7 IP file or things will not be correct in other areas.. What version of SQ7 are you using??   and yes Lat and Long are indead 32 bit channels so this would make sense. TBH I have never bothered to log them as I use the ecu log for this and overlay the logs..
cheers
