Hello!
I just picked up an Ecpro from Rally sport direct for a 2008 sti. It did not come with a software disc. Does this ecu use Pi toolset? Can I enable an extra 2 cylinders to run on this ecu? Will it be able to interpret a different trigger wheel than the factory sti cam/crank like the pectel ecus?

The application I'm trying to use it for is to put a tribecca flat 6 in, and use the factory wiring. The extra cylinders would be power via the emissions component wiring that is now unused.

Hi Samuel,

The Cosworth ECPro is now an unsupported product. Depending on the software version of the ECU, it will either use DeskPro or CalTool. Caltool is our newer software for configuring ECU's, however as stated, it depends on what you already have on the device. You can download CalTool from this forum.

This ECU is designed specifically for operation with the 2008-2010 Subaru STI. You are limited to a 4-cylinder engine due to the number of physical outputs in the ECU. If you would like to run an engine with more cylinders and have full engine control then I suggest you use our SQ6 ECU. This is a supported device and is designed for many different applications.

Kind regards,

Hi
I just "inherited" an EcPro 2008 Sti from a colleague of mine who does not need it anymore. I am moving back to the UK in a couple of months. Is there any way I could use the EcPro on my 2008 UK Sti I have there and what modifications, if any, will be needed.
Many thanks in advance for all your help!

Hi George,

The ECPro is a plug and play ECU, so you should not need to make any modifications. The factory harness will plug in directly to the EcPro without the need to make an adapter harness. As described earlier in the thread, depending on the firmware installed on the ECU, you will need to download DeskPro or Caltool in order to calibrate it.
Kind regards,

Jake

Jake,

Dont forget the 2008-2010 USDM have a different pinout than the JDM or UK Market STI.
Firmware is also different from USDM and JDM  ECPRO. It holds its specific licence and cannot be cross flashed. So adaptation might need to be physical...

Hi Jake
I am back in the UK, finding it a bit difficult to connect to the ECPro. I have to admit I am quite the novice at this, but reading through the manuals I think that I need to upload a default Subaru Sti dataset before the unit starts communicating?
I don't have the installation CD which was supposed to contain said dataset; any chance you could send me a download link?
Also, on Kako911's comment, is a hardware adaptation needed to connect to the UK Sti?
Many thanks again for all your help!
